בשנת תרתין ליואש בר יהואחז מלכא דישראל מלך אמציה בר יואש מלך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ywash br amtsyh mlk dyshral mlka yhwakhz br lywash thrthyn bshnth
In the second year of Joash, son of Joahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.

בר עסרין וחמש שנין הוה כד מלך ועסרין ותשע שנין מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה יהועדן מן ירושלם:
yrwshlm mn yhwedn amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk shnyn wthshe wesryn mlk kd hwh shnyn wkhmsh esryn br
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.

ועבד דכשר קדם יי לחוד לא כדוד אבוהי ככל דעבד יואש אבוהי עבד:
ebd abwhy ywash debd kkl abwhy kdwd la lkhwd yy qdm dkshr webd
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.

לחוד במתא לא עטרא עד כען עמא מדבחין ומסקין בוסמין על במתא:
bmtha el bwsmyn wmsqyn mdbkhyn ema ken ed eTra la bmtha lkhwd
However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.

והוה כד תקיפת מלכותא בידיה וקטל ית עבדוהי די קטלו ית מלכא אבוהי:
abwhy mlka yth qTlw dy ebdwhy yth wqTl bydyh mlkwtha thqypth kd whwh
As soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,

וית בני קטליא לא קטל כמא דכתיב בספר אוריתא דמשה דפקיד יי למימר לא יומתו אבהן על פום בנין ובנין לא יומתון על פום אבהן אלהין אנש בחוביה ימות:
ymwth bkhwbyh ansh alhyn abhn pwm el ywmthwn la wbnyn bnyn pwm el abhn ywmthw la lmymr yy dpqyd dmshh awrytha bspr dkthyb kma qTl la qTlya bny wyth
but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

הוא מחא ית אנש אדום בגי מלח עסרא אלפין וכבש ית כרכא בקרבא וקרא ית שמה יקתאל עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed yqthal shmh yth wqra bqrba krka yth wkbsh alpyn esra mlkh bgy adwm ansh yth mkha hwa
He killed ten thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela by war, and called its name Joktheel, to this day.

בכן שלח אמציה אזגדין לות יהואש בר יהואחז בר יהוא מלכא דישראל למימר איתא נקביל אפין בקרבא:
bqrba apyn nqbyl aytha lmymr dyshral mlka yhwa br yhwakhz br yhwash lwth azgdyn amtsyh shlkh bkn
Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let’s look one another in the face.”

ושלח יהואש מלכא דישראל לות אמציה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה למימר חוחא די בלבנן שלח לארזא די בלבנן למימר הב ית ברתך לברי לאתו ועברת חיות ברא די בלבנן ודשת ית חוחא:
khwkha yth wdshth blbnn dy bra khywth webrth lathw lbry brthk yth hb lmymr blbnn dy larza shlkh blbnn dy khwkha lmymr yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk amtsyh lwth dyshral mlka yhwash wshlkh
Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife.’ Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.

מימחא מחיתא ית אנש אדום וראים עלך לבך אתיקר ותיב בביתך ולמא את מתגרי בבישתא ותתקטיל את ודבית יהודה עמך:
emk yhwdh wdbyth ath wththqTyl bbyshtha mthgry ath wlma bbythk wthyb athyqr lbk elk wraym adwm ansh yth mkhytha mymkha
You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”

ולא קבל אמציהו וסליק יהואש מלכא דישראל ואקבילו אפיהון בקרבא הוא ואמציהו מלך שבטא דבית יהודה בבית שמש די לשבטא דיהודה:
dyhwdh lshbTa dy shmsh bbyth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk wamtsyhw hwa bqrba apyhwn waqbylw dyshral mlka yhwash wslyq amtsyhw qbl wla
But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

ואתברו אנש יהודה קדם ישראל ואפיכו גבר לקירווהי:
lqyrwwhy gbr wapykw yshral qdm yhwdh ansh wathbrw
Judah was defeated by Israel; and each man fled to his tent.

וית אמציהו מלך שבטא דבית יהודה בר יהואש בר אחזיה אחד יהואש מלכא דישראל בבית שמש ואתו לירושלם ופרץ בשורא דירושלם בתרע שבטא דאפרים עד תרע זויתא ארבע מאה אמין:
amyn mah arbe zwytha thre ed daprym shbTa bthre dyrwshlm bshwra wprts lyrwshlm wathw shmsh bbyth dyshral mlka yhwash akhd akhzyh br yhwash br yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk amtsyhw wyth
Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh and came to Jerusalem, then broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

ונסיב ית כל דהבא וכספא וית כל מניא דאשתכחו בית מקדשא דיי ובגנזי בית מלכא וית בני רברביא ותב לשמרון:
lshmrwn wthb rbrbya bny wyth mlka byth wbgnzy dyy mqdsha byth dashthkkhw mnya kl wyth wkspa dhba kl yth wnsyb
He took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in Yahweh’s house and in the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.

ושאר פתגמי יהואש די עבד וגבורתיה ודאגיח עם אמציה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk amtsyh em wdagykh wgbwrthyh ebd dy yhwash pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ושכיב יהואש עם אבהתוהי ואתקבר בשמרון עם מלכי ישראל ומלך ירבעם בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh yrbem wmlk yshral mlky em bshmrwn wathqbr abhthwhy em yhwash wshkyb
Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.

וחיא אמציהו בר יואש מלך שבטא דבית יהודה בתר דמית יהואש בר יהואחז מלכא דישראל חמש עסרי שנין:
shnyn esry khmsh dyshral mlka yhwakhz br yhwash dmyth bthr yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ywash br amtsyhw wkhya
Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, fifteen years.

ושאר פתגמי אמציה הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכיא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth lmlkya ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla amtsyh pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ומרדו עלוהי מירדא בירושלם ואפיך ללכיש ושלחו בתרוהי ללכיש וקטלוהי תמן:
thmn wqTlwhy llkysh bthrwhy wshlkhw llkysh wapyk byrwshlm myrda elwhy wmrdw
They made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

ונטלו יתיה על סוסותא ואתקבר בירושלם עם אבהתוהי בקרתא דדוד:
ddwd bqrtha abhthwhy em byrwshlm wathqbr swswtha el ythyh wnTlw
They brought him on horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in David’s city.

ודברו כל עמא דיהודה ית עזריה והוא בר שית עסרי שנין ואמליכו יתיה תחות אבוהי אמציהו:
amtsyhw abwhy thkhwth ythyh wamlykw shnyn esry shyth br whwa ezryh yth dyhwdh ema kl wdbrw
All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.

הוא בנא ית אילת ואתיבה לבית יהודה בתר דשכיב מלכא עם אבהתוהי:
abhthwhy em mlka dshkyb bthr yhwdh lbyth wathybh aylth yth bna hwa
He built Elath and restored it to Judah. After that the king slept with his fathers.
23
בשנת חמש עסרי שנין לאמציה בר יואש מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך ירבעם בר יואש מלכא דישראל בשמרון ארבעין וחדא שנין:
shnyn wkhda arbeyn bshmrwn dyshral mlka ywash br yrbem mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ywash br lamtsyh shnyn esry khmsh bshnth
In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria for forty-one years.
24
ועבד דביש קדם יי לא סטא מכל חובי ירבעם בר נבט דחיב ית ישראל:
yshral yth dkhyb nbT br yrbem khwby mkl sTa la yy qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

הוא אתיב ית תחום ישראל ממעלנא דחמת עד ימא דמישרא כמא דמליל יי אלהא דישראל די מליל ביד עבדיה יונה בר אמתי נביא די מגת חפר:
khpr mgth dy nbya amthy br ywnh ebdyh byd mlyl dy dyshral alha yy dmlyl kma dmyshra yma ed dkhmth mmelna yshral thkhwm yth athyb hwa
He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to Yahweh, the God of Israel’s word, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was from Gath Hepher.

ארי גלי קדם יי שעבודא דישראל תקיף לחדא ואינון מטלטלין ושביקין ולית דסעיד לישראל:
lyshral dseyd wlyth wshbyqyn mTlTlyn waynwn lkhda thqyp dyshral shebwda yy qdm gly ary
For Yahweh saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter for all, slave and free; and there was no helper for Israel.
27
ולא הוה רעוא קדם יי למימחי ית שמא דישראל מתחות שמיא ופרקינון על ידי ירבעם בר יואש:
ywash br yrbem ydy el wprqynwn shmya mthkhwth dyshral shma yth lmymkhy yy qdm rewa hwh wla
Yahweh didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

ושאר פתגמי ירבעם וכל דעבד וגבורתיה דאגיח ודאתיב ית דמשק וית חמת לדבית יהודה בישראל הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla byshral yhwdh ldbyth khmth wyth dmshq yth wdathyb dagykh wgbwrthyh debd wkl yrbem pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he fought, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
